Success of Bangladesh laudable in establishing women rights

RANGPUR, Mar 07, 2019 (BSS) – Discussants at a human chain programme
have lauded success of Bangladesh in establishing equal rights, dignity and
honour of women ensuring their enhanced participation in socio-political and
economic activities.

They viewed this at the event jointly organised by the district
administration and District Women Affairs Office at Katchari Bazar area here
on Wednesday on the eve of observing the International Women’s Day- 2019 on
Friday next.

Officials and representatives of government departments, NGOs and human
rights organisations, women leaders, teachers and students of educational
institutions, civil society members and local elite participated in the
programme.

Additional District Magistrate Shukriya Pervin attended the programme as
the chief guest with District Women Affairs Officer Kawsar Pervin in the
chair.

Rangpur unit Chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha Rosy Rahman, women
rights’ activists Era Haq, Monjushree Saha, Somse Ara Bilkis, Dr. Samorpita
Ghosh Tanya, Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu and Rajesh Dey Raju, among others,
spoke on the ocassion.

The speakers laid emphasis on flourishing talents and leadership of
women and mobilisation of all social forces to bring an effective change in
the social mindset for ensuring equal rights of women by establishing gender
equality.

Kawsar Pervin discussed various steps taken by the present government to
establish equal rights of women, their enhanced emancipation in all
activities, end repressions and increase their social dignity and honour for
their empowerment.

Principal Fakhrul Anam Benzu stressed on ensuring emancipation of women
in development activities, economy, politics, governance, different
professions and every sector for building a prosperous Bangladesh.

The chief guest said women of Bangladesh have already proved their
abilities and efficiencies in doing everything from managing household works
to conquering the Mount Everest significantly contributing to development of
the country.

She urged men and women for working unitedly to build discrimination
free prosperous ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by realising the visions envisioned by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina.
