Programmes taken to celebrate Bangabandhu’s birthday in Narsingdi
NARSINGDI, March 6, 2019 (BSS)- The district administration at a
preparatory meeting today finalized various programmes to celebrate the 99th
birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
and National Children Day-2019 on March 17 with due respect and festivity.
Deputy Commissioner Syeda Farhana Kawnine presided over the meeting at her
office conference room.
District level government high officials, Upazila officers, Head of the
educational institutions, Freedom Fighters, Representatives of socio-cultural
and professional organisations and journalists participated in the meeting.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Awal, Additional District
Magistrate Shushama Sultana, District Muktijuddah Commander Abdul Motaleb
Pathan, former principals of Narsingdi Government College Surja Kantha Das
and Mohammad Ali addressed, among others, in the meeting.
The programmes included hoisting of national flags, placing of wreaths at
the portrait of Bangabandhu, cake cutting ceremony, children’s gathering,
rallies, discussions and screening of documentaries on Bangabandhu.
On the occasion, Shishu Academy will arrange drawing, handwriting, essay
writing and cultural competitions. Islamic foundation will also arrange Hamd-
Nath competition and Doa Mahfil and district Information office will
screening of documentary films on Bangabandhu.
The observance will begin through placing wreaths at the Mural of
Bangabandhu on Deputy Commissioner Office premises in the morning on March
17.
The local newspapers will publish special supplements marking the day
while special munajats will be offered at the religious institutions and
improved diets will be served among the unprivileged children.
