“Bangabandhu’s March 7 speech to continue inspiring nation”

RANGPUR, March 07, 2019 (BSS) – Leaders of Awami League and its associate
bodies today said the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu would continue
to inspire the Bangalee nation from generations to generations.

Terming the epoch-making March 7 speech of Bangabandhu as the clear
declaration of independence, they said the speech contained clear direction
for the Bangalee nation to launch ultimate struggle for achieving national
freedom.

They made these observations at the main discussion organised by
district AL and its associate bodies at district AL office in Betpotti area
on the city in observance of the historic March 7 in the city.

The district and city units of AL, its associate bodies including
Chhatra League, Jubo League, Swechchasebak League, Krishak League, Sramik
League, socio-cultural and professional organisations chalked out daylong
programmes to observe the day.

The programmes included hoisting of national and party flags, placing
wreaths at portrait and mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman, rallies and paying rich tributes to Bangabandhu and four
national leaders.

The epoch-making historic speech delivered by Bangabandhu on this day at
the Race Course Maidan in 1971 was played in the city throughout the day.

Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed presided over the
main discussion participated by leaders and workers of the party and its
associate bodies.

General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, city AL
President Shafiur Rahman Shafi, its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal,
Organising Secretary of district AL Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, Publicity
and Publication Secretary Rosy Rahman and Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman
Tutul, President of district Chhatra League Mehedee Hasan Rony, General
Secretary of district Mohila AL Advocate Zakia Sultana Choite, among others,
addressed.

In their speeches, the speakers highlighted significance of
Bangabandhu’s historic March 7 speech that was included in the Memory of
World International Register maintained by UNESCO in 2017 giving proper
dignity to the speech.

They termed the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu as the all-time
best speech and said that it was a real proclamation of independence uniting
the whole Bangalee Nation to participate in the War of Liberation at his
call.

Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed urged workers of AL and its associate bodies to work
unitedly for building a middle income nation by 2021 and a developed country
by 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to make independence
meaningful for every citizen.
