14th Dhaka motor show next week

DHAKA, March 5, 2019 (BSS) – An international motor show, along with concurrent expositions on bikes, commercial vehicles and auto parts, will begin in the capital next week to present new products and solutions to the country’s growing consumer class.

CEMS Bangladesh in association with CEMS Global is organizing the 14th edition of the Dhaka Motor Show at the International Convention City Bashundhara from March 14 to March 16, said a press release today.

The 5th Dhaka Bike Show 2019, the 3rd Dhaka Commercial Vehicle Show 2019, and the 4th Dhaka Auto Parts Show 2019 will also take place concurrently at the same venue.

Some 265 exhibitors from 16 countries will showcase their products and services in more than 580 booths, said Meherun N Islam, president and group managing director of CEMS Bangladesh, at a press conference at the Economic Reporters’ Forum here today.

She said companies would showcase renowned brands from Bangladesh, Germany,
Italy, France, the US, Japan, China, India and Malaysia. “We will also showcase new cars whose price is almost at par with those of reconditioned cars.”

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun is expected to inaugurate the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The Dhaka Motor show, along with the concurrent expositions, is the only gateway to the automotive industry of Bangladesh. The exposition showcases new vehicles and aftermarket components of the rapidly expanding automotive market and offers a perfect business-to-business platform, said the organizer.

Reyad Hasnain, managing director of REL Motors Limited (Subaru) Bangladesh, said Bangladesh’s car market is booming with 63 new cars hitting the streets every day.

A K M Tauhidur Rahman, head of sales of Rancon Motor Bikes Ltd, said the bike market in Bangladesh is growing rapidly and people want to buy the best products. “So, we will bring some exciting stuff at the exposition like we did last year.”

Faiaz H Chowdhury, assistant general manager of Energypac Power Generation Ltd, which sells heavy duty vehicles, said his company would also unveil Chinese brand Shacman’s prime mover and dump truck at the fair. Energypac is the sole distributor of the company.

Vehicles in the categories of cars, sports utility vehicles, multi-utility vehicles, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, three- wheelers, alternative energy-driven vehicles, electric vehicles, motor cycles, and scooters will be showcased at the event.

The expos will also showcase auto parts and services such as automotive components and spares, garage and garage equipment, accessories, insurance products and services, auto finance and leasing, IT for auto industry, oil and lubricants, CNG kits and units, tyres, wheels, design concepts, auto electronics, coach builders and design vehicles.

Various financial institutions will make attractive offers on various types of auto loans.

Subaru Bangladesh will exclusively showcase its Subaru BRZ 2019 model car and will offer special discounts on various models of vehicles to mark its re-launch in the country.

Haojue will launch its exciting new motorbike DR160. The expos will remain open to visitors from 10:30am to 8:30pm.
