BGB destroys huge amount of drugs in Chapain’ganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 5, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Border Guard Bangladesh
(BGB) destroyed a huge amount of drugs worth about Taka 7,94,07,005 on
Tuesday in Baroghoria Bazar area under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.
These drugs– 2,539 bottles and 130 litres of wine, 54,232 bottles and
seven litres of phensidyl, 22 kg 390 grams and 222 packets of heroin, 14 kg
200 grams of hemp, 27,502 pieces of yaba tablet, 369 intoxicating tablets and
5,291 ampoules of intoxicating injection– were seized during the anti-drug
drives conducted along the border areas at different times.
The destroying function was attended by the Rajshahi Sector Commander of
BGB Colonnel Mushfiqur Rahman Masum as the chief guest while deputy
commissioner of Chapainawabganj AZM Nurul Hoque, commanding officer of 59
battalion Lieutenant Colonnel SM Salahuddin, commanding officer of 53
battalion of BGB Lieutenant Colonnel Sajjad Sarwar, superintendent of police
of Chapainawabganj TM Mojahidul Islam and assistant director of Narcotics
Control Department Anisur Rahman attended it as special guests.
