Singapore medical team reaches BSMMU for Quader’s treatment

DHAKA, Mar 3, 2019 (BSS) – Two specialist physicians from Singapore reached Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital this evening joining the Bangladeshi physicians to provide treatment to ailing Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

“Two specialist physicians of Singapore Mount Elizabeth Hospital reached Dhaka at 7.50pm today by an air ambulance. But decision has not yet been taken whether Quader will be taken to Singapore or not,” Awami League (AL) deputy office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua told reporters.

However, the air ambulance is kept ready for taking AL general secretary Obaidul Quader abroad for better treatment.

Obaidul Quader was admitted to the BSMMU Hospital as he had breathing problem after Fazr prayers today.

He has been diagnosed with three blockages in his coronary artery, according to the BSMMU physicians.

The minister was first taken to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at 8.30 am and then shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of BSMMU.
