2-Day int’l summit on clean energy begins Mar 10

DHAKA, Mar 3, 2019 (BSS) – Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), a state-run non-banking financial institution, is going to organize an international summit titled ‘Bangladesh Clean Energy Summit 2019’ on March 10-11 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is expected to attend at the opening session of the seminar and exhibition as the chief guest while Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) of the Prime Minister’s Office M Abul Kalam Azad and Power Division Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus will attend the ceremony as special guests.

Ambassadress of France to Bangladesh will attend the function as the guest of honor.

Industry professionals from both manufacturing and services sectors, technology suppliers and traders, trade associations and bodies, financial institutions, development partners, government bodies and policy makers, foreign dignitaries, academicians and researchers are expected to join the conference.

The objective of the event is to create a platform for energy practitioners to exchange knowledge, ideas and address challenges through interactive discussions on various aspects of clean energy which include technology, market development, financing as well as policy and regulatory matters.

Regulators, policy makers, financiers, energy practitioners as well as business houses from various countries will come together to explore various contemporary issues related to clean energy and enhance collaboration during the two-day of the conference through different activities.

More than 100 stalls from local and international manufacturers and suppliers of various renewable energy, energy efficiency, green finance and green building technologies will exhibit their products and services in the fair.

The exhibition will remain open for all from 9.30 am till 8 pm.
