BGB hands over Myanmar army member

COX’S BAZAR, Mar 3, 2019 (BSS)- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today handed over a member of Border Guard Police of Myanmar, who was detained for trespassing into Bangladesh through Naikhongchari frontier in Bandarban.

A flag meeting between BGP and BGB was held today at the Zero Point along Ghumdum border of Bandarban and after the end of the meeting, the detained army personnel, Aung Bo Bo Thin, was handed over to BGP around 12:30 pm.

Cox’s Bazar BGB 34 Battalion Commander Lt Col Md Ali Haidar Azad Ahmed said today that after ending the meeting the detained army member of Myanmar was handed over to BGP.

Haidar led the 9-member BGB delegation while Kew Wing Ling led the 9-member BGP delegation.

Earlier on January 24, locals captured Bo Thin while he was roaming around in the hill areas inside Bangladesh territory, and handed him over to the Bhallukhyaia BGB camp.
