Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament concludes in Rangpur
RANGPUR, Mar 03, 2019 (BSS) – The three-day “Gemcon Cup Golf Tournament-
2019” concluded with a colourful prize distribution function held at Model
Conference room of Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) Saturday night.
Over 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from across the country
participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the
tournament, a press release said today.
The Gemcon Group Limited sponsored the tournament organised by RGCC on its
ground located on the Ghaghot riverbank in the outskirt of the city.
In the Male Group, golfer Major Asharf secured the first position while
golfer Lieutenant Colonel Shamim won the best gross award.
Golfer Major Muhit became the runner up while golfer Major General Md.
Nazrul Islam won the second runner up award.
Golfer Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed won the second best gross
award while Lieutenant Colonel Yusuf won the third best gross award.
Golfer Colonel Mong won the maximum part award and Colonel Nasir won the
minimum part award.
Golfer Lieutenant Colonel Minhaz won the longest drive award while golfer
Brigadier General Tauhid got the nearest to pin award.
In the Female Group, golfer Mrs. Shamim became the winner while golfer
Miss Subah was awarded for becoming the best gross.
Saba secured the first position while Nisa became the runner up in Junior
Group.
In Sub-Junior Group, Wafi secured the first position while Wadi and Saiba
jointly became the runner up.
Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry
Division and President of RGCC Major General Md. Nazrul Islam distributed
prizes among the winners in the concluding function as the chief guest.
Representatives of the Gemcon Group Limited, military officials, RGCC
officials, participating golfers and other invited guests were present.
