DHAKA, Mar 01, 2019 (BSS)- Dhaka University (DU) will observe ‘Flag Hoisting Day’ on its campus tomorrow with due respect.
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inaugurate a programme in observance of the day at 10 am on the historic Bot-Tala premises adjacent to Arts Building by playing the national anthem, said a press release.
Later, a discussion will be held on the significance of the Flag Hoisting Day while patriotic songs will be performed at the programme.
On March 2, 1971, the then Vice-President of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) ASM Abdur Rab hoisted the National flag of independent Bangladesh on behalf of Swadhin Bangla Chhatra Sangram Parishad atop the DU Arts Building.
