Master plan for Rajshahi’s development in the offing
RAJSHAHI, March 1, 2019 (BSS) – Formulation work of a master plan is
progressing fast aims at massive development in Rajshahi’s diversified
sectors including Metrorail.
With overall assistance of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Power China,
the ever largest company in China, will implement development projects based
on the master plan.
A six-member Power Chine delegation led by its business development
manager Han Kun held a meeting with RCC Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton at city
bhaban conference hall related to the issue here yesterday.
According to the master plan, city protection embankment along the river
Padma will be constructed where amusement resort will be installed firstly.
In addition to establishing general and specialized hospital, Shahmukhdum
Airport will be expanded and developed. City’s drainage and transportation
systems and waste management will also be improved.
Under the public transportation system, elevated expressway, Metrorail and
flyover will be promoted side by side with road widening and lightening.
In his remarks, Mayor Liton says Rajshahi city dwellers will enjoy massive
development facilities after successful implementation of the project.
“We are committed to implement projects involving more than Taka 5,000
crore within five years,” he asserted.
RCC Secretary Rejaul Karim, Chief Engineer Ashraful Haque, Chief Revenue
Officer Shahana Akhter Jahan and Superintending Engineer were present at the
meeting.
