Mashrafe for planned steps to prevent Modhumoti erosion
NARAIL, Feb 28, 2019 (BSS) – Lawmaker of Narail-2 constituency and
cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza today said necessary steps would be taken to
prevent erosion of river Modhumoti at different points under Lohagara upazila
in the district.
“Victims of river erosion would be rehabilitated. Planned steps will be
taken to prevent the further intensity of river erosion,” he told a view-
exchange with upazila level government officials and public representatives
at Lohagara upazila auditorium here.
Deputy Commissioner Anjuman Ara, Police Super Md Jasim Uddin, Upazila
Chairman Syed Fayjur Amir Litu, Lohagara upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mukul
Kumar Moitra and Upazila Awami League president Abdul Hannan Runu were
present on the occasion, among others.
Mortaza urged the union parishad (UP) chairmen to take stern actions
against abuse of drugs.
Urging officials to take stern actions against drug abuse, he said, “I will
stay beside you to save our youths from being spoilt by the menace of drug
abuse. We want to see Narail as a drug-abuse free district in true sense.”
