Information Minister mourns death of PIB DG Alamgir
DHAKA, Feb 28, 2019 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today
mourned the death of eminent journalist and Director General (DG) of Press
Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) Shah Alamgir.
In a condolence message, he, also the ruling Awami League’s publicity and
publication secretary, expressed deep shock and sorrow at his death saying,
“We have lost a dedicated media think-tank and columnist. He will live
through his work.”
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound
sympathy to the bereaved family.
In separate condolence messages,the chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Information Ministry
Hasanul Haq Inu Information and Secretary Abdul Malek
also expressed deep shock at the death of Shah Alamgir and
prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy
to the bereaved family members.
Shah Alamgir breathed his last in capital’s Combined Military Hospital
(CMH) at about 10.10 am at the age of 62. He had been undergoing treatment
there with multiple diseases, including diabetic, since on February 21 last.
