Finish Bogura rape case proceedings in 6 months: HC
DHAKA, Feb 27, 2019 (BSS) – The High Court (HC) today ordered Bogura Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal to finish the proceedings of a case lodged over raping a college student and torturing her mother, within next six months.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice S M Kuddus Zaman passed the order, also scrapping a bail of the prime accused Tufan Sarker.
“The court today canceled Tufan’s plea for bail and asked the trial court concerned to finish the case proceedings within next six months,” said defence lawyer Cumar Debul Dey.
The case was filed against Tufan and others for raping the student after abducting her from her home and torturing her and her mother and shaving their heads.
