Rubel stars as Prime Bank clinch victory in DPL T20

DHAKA, Feb 27, 2019 (BSS)- A blistering half century coming from the bat of
opener Rubel Mia steered Prime Bank Cricket Club to earn a 49-run victory
over Abahani Limited in the Dhaka Premier League T20 match on Wednesday at
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.

Sent to bat first by Abahani, Prime Bank amassed a challenging total of 176
for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

The two openers gave Prime Bank a solid start contributing 67 runs for the
opening stand. Rubel blasted 56-ball off 76 runs hitting seven boundaries and
four over boundaries while Anamul Haque chipped away 22-ball off 37 runs that
contained one four and four sixes.

Later, Ariful Haque (21) and Al-Amin (20) made a quick fire which helped
Prime Bank to set a massive winning target for Abahani Limited.

Mohammad Saifuddin, Sabbir Rahman, Zakaria Islam, Rubel Hossain and Ariful
Hasan all took one of Prime Bank’s wicket each.

In reply, Abahani stumbled in the beginning of their chase as they were
eventually restricted at 127 for 9 in 20 overs. Cameo Rubel Hossain top
scored with 23-ball off 36-run while skipper Mosaddek Hossain added 17 as
Abahani lost their wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling
display by the Prime Bank bowlers.

Alok Kapali and Mohor Sheikh were the most successful bowlers as they
picked up three Abahani’s wickets giving away 22 and 26 runs respectively. He
was well supported by Al Amin Hossain who took two wickets for 21 runs.

Rubel Mia of Prime Bank was named the player of the match for his
impressive batting performance.

At Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah (KSOAS), Sheikh Jamal
Dhanmondi Club ( 72 for 5 in 8 overs) managed an exciting four-run victory
(D/L method) over Uttara Sporting Club (59 for 5 in 7 overs) in the rain
affected match.

In another match at KSOAS, Mohammedan Sporting Club (143 for 9 in 20 overs)
beat Legends of Rupganj (113 for 8 in 20 overs) by 30 runs.
