Confident U-16 eve team take on Philippines tomorrow

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh U-16- women’s football team take on their Philippines counterpart in their opening match of second round qualifiers of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2019 scheduled to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at Mandalay Thiri Stadium.

The match kicks off at 2pm (BST).

Following the official training session at the match venue, the U-16 Girls are upbeat and positive in mind before the first match, according a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation today afternoon.

The U-16 Girls underwent a light tactical training session at Myanmar’s regional Academy here in Mandalay.

Sanjita, Bangladesh talented wide forward player said:”We are training extremely hard which is good for us. We have just got used to the humidity which makes it even more challenging. We are all pleased to be here.”

In the second round of qualifiers, Bangladesh will play in Group B against China, Philippines and Myanmar.

The girls in red and green will face hosts Myanmar on March 1 before finishing the tournament on March 3 against China.

Earlier, team’s head coach Choton expressed his high hope to make a good start in the tournament.

He said they performed very well in Dhaka in round 1 against some good sides. Our performance against Vietnam was an indication of how his team have improved and looking at repeating this similar standard in the first match.
