Shinepukur, Sheikh Jaml post win in DPL T20 opener

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2019 (BSS)- A cameo 10-ball 32 from Shuvagata Hom steered
Shinepukur Cricket Club to post a five-wicket victory over Legends of Rupganj
in the inaugural match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) T20 tournament on
Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium (KSOAS) in Fatullah.

Forced to bat first by Shinepukur, Rupganj scored 115 for 5 in 13 overs,
thanks to Shahriar Nafees for his brilliant 24-ball off 46-run knock.

In reply, Shinepukur reached home making 117 for the loss of five wickets.
Shinepukur got off to a good start but the loss of a few quick wickets built
pressure on the batsmen. Shuvagata came to the rescue with his knock studded
with two boundaries and three over boundaries to get Shinepukur back on
track.

Shinepukur needed 10 runs off five deliveries when Delwar Hossain hit a six
and a four to ensure their victory, with three balls to spare.

At Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat
Khelaghar Samaj Kalyan Samity by 11 runs. Asked to bat first by Khelaghar,
Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club posted a challenging total of 169 for 5 from
their allotted 20 overs with skipper Nurul Hasan top scoring with 43 runs.

Moinul Islam was the pick of Khelaghar’s bowler as he captured two of
Sheikh Jamal’s wickets conceding 26 runs.

In reply, Khelaghar found the chase stiff and eventually was dismissed at
158 with opener Robiul Islam Robi making 69 runs.

In the day’s another match at KSOAS, the match between Prime Doleshwar
Sporting Club and Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) ended in a tie.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Dodeshwar scored 111 for 9 from
their stipulated 20 overs and in reply BKSP also scored 111 losing all their
wickets in 20 overs.
