Islamic Foundation holds special prayer for Chawkbazar fire victims
DHAKA, Feb 22, 2019 (BSS) – Islamic Foundation Bangladesh today offered ghaibana janaza (funeral prayers in absentia), and special doa for the Chawkbazar fire victims at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Jumma prayers.
State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Sheikh M Abdullah, Secretary of the Religious Affairs Ministry M Anisur Rahman and Director General of the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh Shamim Mohammad Afzal, among others, joined the ghaibana janaza and special prayer.
After the Jumma prayers, the Islamic Foundation conducted the ghaibana janaza and doa at the South side of the mosque seeking eternal peace of the departed souls and early recovery of the victims.
At least 68 people were killed and hundred others injured in a deadly fire that broke out at the chemical warehouse-prone Chawakbazar area in Old Dhaka on Wednesday night.
