Suspect snatcher killed in gun fight in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Feb 20, 2019 (BSS) – A suspected snatcher was killed in an
alleged gunfight with police in Nandon Kanon area in the city in the early
hours of today.
The deceased was identified as Aslam Hossain, alias Almaz, 30.
A Single Barrel Gun and three round cartridges were recovered from the
spot, said Mohammad Mohsin, officer in charge of Kotwali thana.
Two police personnel also received injuries in the incident. The police
men are Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ruhul Amin and ASI Danesh Barua of
Kotwali thana, the OC said.
The deceased was accused in 11 cases including snatching, arms and
dacoity lodged with various police stations in the city and district, added
the OC.
Based on secrete information a team of Kotwali thana police reached the
area around 4 am suddenly a gang of terrorists opened fire on police team,
prompting the law enforcers to fire back in self-defense, triggering the
gunfight, he added.
Almaz, received bullet while trying to flee and died on the spot. Later,
police recovered single barrel gun and three round bullets from the spot.
