69 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Feb 19, 2019 (BSS) – Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
69 persons including three drug traders from eight upazilas of the district
in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also recovered 142 pieces of Yaba tablets and 590 bottles of
Phensidyl during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 16 persons, Kalaroa
Thana police arrested seven persons, Tala Thana police arrested five persons,
Kaliganj Thana police arrested seven persons, Shyamnagar Thana police
arrested 10 persons including a drug trader along with 22 pieces of Yaba
tablets, Assasuni Thana police arrested 10 persons, Patkelghata Thana police
arrested eight persons and Debhata police arrested four persons.
Detective Branch (DB) of police in separate drive arrested a drug trader
along with 120 pieces of Yaba tablets from Satkhira Sadar upazila.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained a
drug trader along with 590 bottles of Phensidyl from Satkhira Sadar upazila
of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Satkhira Sadar Thana
police, BGB said.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
