73 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Feb 18, 2019 (BSS) – Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
73 persons including five drug traders from eight upazilas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also recovered 301 pieces of Yaba tablets and 20 grams of
Ganja during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 13 persons, Kalaroa
Thana police arrested seven persons, Tala Thana police arrested five persons,
Kaliganj Thana police arrested seven persons, Shyamnagar Thana police
arrested 16 persons including two drug traders along with 20 pieces of Yaba
tablets and 20 grams of Ganja, Assasuni Thana police arrested 13 persons
including a drug trader along with 21 pieces of Yaba tablets, Patkelghata
Thana police arrested seven persons including a drug trader along with 80
pieces of Yaba tablets and Debhata police arrested four persons.
Meanwhile, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained a
drug trader along with 180 pieces of Yaba tablets from Assasuni Thana.
Later, the detained person was handed over to the Assasuni Thana police,
RAB said.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
