Bogura AL President Momtaz Uddin laid to rest
BOGURA, Feb 17, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Central Working Committee Member and Freedom Fighter Md Momtaz Uddin was laid to eternal rest after Asr prayers at his family graveyard at Shakharia union in the district this afternoon.
Momtaz, also Bogura District AL President, was given a state honour before his first namaz-e-janaza at Altafunnesa playground in the district after Zohr prayers.
After namaz-e-janaza, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Jatiya Sangsad Whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon, Rajshahi City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, lawmakers Abdul Mannan and Habibar Rahman, Bogura Rural Development Academy Director General Aminur Rahman, Rajshahi Divisional Additional Commissioner Anwar Hossain, Bogura Deputy Commissioner (DC) Fayez Ahmmed, Police Super Ali Ashraf Bhuiyan and other people, including district AL leaders, paid homage to the veteran freedom fighter by placing wreaths on Momtaz’s coffin.
Later, his second namaz-e-janaza was held on Manikchak High School premises in Shakharia Union of the district after Asr prayers.
Momtaz Uddin died of old-age complications at a hospital here early this morning at the age of 78.
