One held with arms, ammo in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 16, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion
(RAB) arrested an alleged arms peddler with a pistol, two magazines and five
rounds of bullet from Chakbhabanipur village under Shibganj upazila in the
district on Friday late night.
The arrested was identified as Md Qamruzzaman Titu, 40, son of Md Entaj Ali
of the village under Shibganj upazila.
On a tip-off, an operation team of the RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp
conducted a raid in the area and nabbed Qamruzzaman with the arms and
ammunition.
Later, the arrested person was handed over to the police of Shibganj thana
with a case.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 105 bottles
of Indian Phensedyl from a frontier area under Shibganj upazila this morning.
The BGB sources said, on secret information, a patrol team of the BGB-59
battalion from Telkupi Border Outpost raided the aforesaid area and seized
the contraband drugs.
Later, the seized goods were deposited with the Narcotics Control
Department.
