Pitha Utsab held at RCCI School and College

RANGPUR, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS) – A day-long colourful Pitha Utsab (cake
festival) was held today on the RCCI Public School and College ground in
Shalbon area of the city.

The authority of RCCI Public School and College, being run by Rangpur
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), organised the event aiming at
welcoming the spring and inspiring young generations to uphold and nurture
rich Bengali culture and heritage.

Rangpur Divisional Director of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher
Secondary Education Professor Dr AKM Sirajul Islam inaugurated the festival
by cutting ribbon at the launching function as the chief guest.

Principal of RCCI Public School and College Professor (Retd) Muhammad Abdul
Jalil and Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripon were present as
special guests.

Directors of RCCI Debobrata Sarker Ranju, Reaz Shahid Suman, Obaidur Rahman
Ratan, Partho Bose, Shajahan Babu and Junior Vice-president of RCCI
Ramakrishna Somani, among others, addressed.

The female students of the institution had set up 18 attractively named
stalls on the ‘Pitha Utsab’ premises to display and sold over 100 traditional
varieties ‘Pithas’ (cakes) prepared by themselves. The visitors had
opportunity to have taste of traditional cakes like ‘Bhapa’ ‘Muksuli’,
‘Narikeli Dudh Puli’, ‘Narikeli Puli’, and ‘Golap Ful’.

Later, students of the institution presented a colourful cultural function.
