Road accident kills businessman in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS)- A retail businessman was killed in a road
accident at Sadar Bus Stand area on Rajshahi-Natore highway under Puthiya
Upazila in the district last night, police and hospital sources said.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam Mithu, 27, son of Mukhlesur
Rahman of Puthiya Municipality Bazar area. Mithu was owner of a retail shop
at Upazila sadar.
Quoting witnesses’ police said Mithu met the tragic road accident when a
speedy truck knocked him down from behind while he was heading towards his
shop riding on a bicycle around 9.30 pm.
Local people recovered and transported him to nearby upazila health
complex where the attending doctors declared him dead.
Police in association with local people seized the truck but its driver
managed to escape.
