Pro-independence lawyers’ finalizes panel for SCBA polls
DHAKA, Feb 12, 2019 (BSS) – Pro-independence lawyers of Bangladesh Supreme
Court finalized the panel to take part in the upcoming Supreme Court Bar
Association (SCBA) polls.
Bangabandhu Awami Ainjibi Parishad member secretary Barrister Sheikh Fazle
Noor Tapash declared the panel yesterday.
Former general secretary of SCBA AM Amin Uddin and former general
secretary of Bangladesh Ain Samity Abdun Nur Dulal will vie for the posts of
president and general secretary respectively on March 13 and 14.
Bibhash Chandra Biswas and Md Jashim Uddin will contest for the two posts
of vice-president, Syed Alam Tipu for treasurer, Mohammad Bakir Uddin Bhuiyan
and Qazi Shamsul Hasan Shuvo for the two posts of assistant secretary.
Mohammad Jaglul Kabir, Mashiur Rahman, Shamim Sarder, Afia Afroj Rani, Awlad
Hossain and Humayun Kabir will contest for the posts of members of executive
committee.
Presided over by former law minister Abdul Matin Khasru, the programme was
also attended by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Bangladesh Bar Council vice
chairman and senior jurist Eusuf Hossain Humayun, senior lawyer Abdul Baset
Majumder, former president of SCBA AFM Mejbah Uddin and former general
secretary Dr Bashir Ahmed, among others.
