UZ polls vital for grassroots people’s socio-economic development: Nasim
SIRAJGANJ, Feb 11, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Presidium Member and
spokesperson of 14-party alliance Mohammed Nasim today said Upazila (UZ)
Parishad elections are a must as it plays a vital for the socio-economic
development of the grassroots people.
“The upazila election is very important to gear up the development
activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It (UZ election) would be more
meaningful if all political parties, including BNP, join the polls,” he said
addressing a meeting at Kazipur Upazila AL office here before submitting the
nomination paper of the chairman aspirant in the upazila.
The people will cast their votes for Sheikh Hasina’s nominated candidates
in the upcoming Upazila Parishad elections like the parliamentary election,
he added.
Kazipur Upazila AL President Shawkat Hossain presided over the meeting
addressed by, among others, incumbent Upazila Chairman Mozammel Haque Bakul
Sarker, municipality Mayor Nizam Uddin and AL nominated chairman aspirant for
the upcoming Upazila Parishad election Khalilur Rahman Siraji.
Earlier, Nasim addressed the teachers and students of Shaheed M Monsur Ali
Government College. He thanked the Prime Minister for launching Masters
Course in three subjects at the college.
