Social awareness campaign ‘CommonSense’ launched

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2019 (BSS) – Mobile phone operator Robi today launched
social awareness campaign “CommonSense” to take a stand against the social
malaise being facilitated by the increasing adoption of digital lifestyle in
the country.

National Professor Dr Anisuzzaman launched the programme in a city hotel as
the chief guest. Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman and eminent actor and road
safety activist Ilias Kanchan were present as special guests.

Three awareness videos were unveiled at the ceremony. These videos have
been dramatized with the real-life scenarios where any content is shared on
social media without checking authenticity or danger, not keeping vigilance
on the use of mobile phone by the children and talk to other through mobile
phone during driving car etc are highlighted.

The videos will be circulated extensively on coming days on various
popular social media platforms.

In addition to the online awareness videos, Robi plans to organise a
number of events on the topics that deal with simple behavioural issues such
as crossing roads while talking on phone, using mobile phone while
socializing, talking loudly on mobile phone in public places, mobile phones
ringing aloud suddenly at mosques, not taking permission of people before
taking their photos on mobile phone and cautioning people to avoid traps set
up by the online fraudsters.

Robi’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mahtab Uddin
Ahmed, Head of Corporate and Regulatory Shahed Alam and Vice-President of
Media, Communication and Sustainability Ekram Kabir were also present on the
occasion.
