DNCC mayoral aspirants get election symbols
DHAKA, Feb 10, 2019 (BSS) – The Election Commission today allocated symbols among the five mayoral candidates of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) by-polls slated for February 28.
Awami League mayoral aspirant Atiqul Islam got ‘Boat’ symbol while Shafin Ahmed of Jatiya Party was allocated “Plough” symbol.
Besides, independent candidate Abdur Rahim got ‘Table Clock’ symbol while National People’s Party’s Anisur Rahman ‘Mango’ and Progressive Democratic Party’s Shahin Khan ‘Tiger’.
Election symbols were also distributed among the councilor and reserved women councilor candidates contesting in the newly inducted 36 wards of Dhaka south and north city corporations.
DNCC Election Returning Officer Abul Kashem allocated the symbols among the aspirants under his jurisdiction while RO concerned to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) election distributed symbols among aspirants of DSCC.
With the allocation of symbols, aspirants can start their electioneering officially from today. They will be able to continue their campaign till 12 am on February 26.
Abul Kashem requested all the candidates to follow the electoral code of conduct during their campaign.
