Three students killed in Gazipur road crash
DHAKA, Feb 10, 2019 (BSS) – Three college students were killed after a bus
rammed their motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Gazipur city this
morning.
The deceased were identified as Shakib Hossain, 17, Jonny, 17, and Raja
Babu, 18, of South Mouchak area of Gazipur.
The accident occurred when a Gazipur city-bound bus of ‘Palash Paribahan’
from Kaliakoir hit the oncoming motorcycle in Konabari area on the highway
around 10am today.
Officer in-charge of Basan Police Station Md Mokter Hossain said, “The
deceased were the students of Prof Shahjahan Ali College in Kaliakoir upazila
of the district. We managed to seize the killer bus and arrest its driver
after the accident.”
Two students died on the spot while the other was declared dead at Shaheed
Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College. The bodies were sent to Shaheed Tazuddin
Ahmed Medical College for postmortem, he added.
Filing of case is underway with the local police station.
