81,911 cases under trial in Kishoreganj
SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 10, 2019 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq today said some 81,911 cases are now under trial in Kishoreganj district till December 31, 2018.
“Out of the under trial cases, 70,379 cases are now under trial with the district judge court,” he said this replying to a starred question from opposition member M Mujibul Haque of Kishoreganj-3 in the Jatiya Sangsad.
The minister said, of the 70,379 under trial cases, some 60,635 are civil and 9,744 are criminal cases.
“Some 2,207 cases are now under trial with the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal and 9,325 with the Chief Judicial Magistrate court,” Anisul Huq informed the House.
Replying to another supplementary question, the minister said that the government has undertaken various steps to dispose cases as early as possible.
He said the government has also expanded courts and increased facilities for speedy trial of cases.
Replying to another question from treasury bench member M Abdul Latif, the minister said some 1,18,200 cases are now under trial in Chattagram district judge court till December 31, 2018.
He said the government has undertaken some effective steps to increase number of judges and courts side by side reducing procrastination and improving speedy trial system.
