Road accident kills two in Gopalganj
GOPALGANJ, Feb 9, 2019 (BSS) – Two people, including a minor child, were
killed in separate road accidents in the district today.
The deceased were identified as Kurban Sarder, 11, son of Nasir Sarder and
hailed from Tungipara upazila of the district and Shiba Sarder, 25, a female
labourer and resident of Godagari Upazila under Rajshahi district.
Officer-in-Charge of Tongipara Thana SM Enamul Kobir said Kurban died as a
passenger bus hit him in Nilupha Bazar area on Gopalganj-Tongipara Road this
morning, leaving him dead on the spot, the OC added.
In a separate accident, Shiba Sarder died as a motorcycle hit her this noon
in Chechaniakandi area on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway, said Monirul Islam
Officer-in-Charge of Gopalganj Sadar Thana.
She was rushed to Gopalganj General Hospital, where the duty doctors
declared her dead, the OC added.
