RAB arrests three alleged arms peddlers in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 7, 2019 (BSS)-Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
arrested three alleged firearms peddlers with a pistol, two magazines and
five rounds of bullet from Shibganj Bazar area under Shibganj upazila of the
district on Wednesday night.
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Mamun Rashid alias Langra
Mamun, 20, son of Md. Gazlur Rahman of Dadanchak village, Md. Janibul Islam
Josi, 30, son of Md. Shofiqul Islam of Doulatpur Mohajanpara and Md. Nur
Alam, 20, son of Md. Shahjahan of Jalmachmari, all under Shibganj upazila.
RAB said, acting on a tip off, an operation team of the force raided the
aforesaid area at around 7 pm and arrested them with a cartoon.
After searching the carton, the RAB found the firearm and ammunition.
During primary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted that they were
running illegal firearms business for a long time. The arrested persons were
handed over to the local police station.
