DHAKA, Feb 6, 2019 (BSS) – Bank services in Chattogram, Mongla and Benapole ports would be available from 7am to 10pm on the working days to ease the daily activities of the country’s two sea and busiest land ports.
The decision was taken at a meeting with the government and private stakeholders of the three ports held at the shipping ministry auditorium with State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.
Meanwhile, the government has introduced 24X7 services in Chattogram, Mongla and Benapole ports to facilitate faster services both official procedures and load-unload of goods.
Besides, the customs authority would also install sufficient scanner machines in these ports for faster scanning of containers.
Few other issues -auction off of containers and cars, green channel of Chattogram ports, reduction of physical verification of containers, introduction of online activities in land ports etc were also discussed in the meeting.
