Daimler says profits slump 29% in 2018
STUTTGART, Germany, Feb 6, 2019 (AFP) – German car giant and Mercedes-Benz
parent Daimler reported Wednesday that its profits tumbled 29 percent to 7.6
billion euros ($8.7 billion) last year although revenue and unit sales both
increased.
“2018 was a year with strong headwinds, from the continuing diesel debate
to switching to the new WLTP emissions testing cycle and the global trade
conflict,” chief executive Dieter Zetsche said in a statement.
