SCB leaders meet state minister for shipping
DHAKA, Feb 5, 2019 (BSS) – A delegation of the Shippers Council of
Bangladesh (SCB) met with the state minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud
Chowdhury at his office here today.
Led by SCB chairman Md. Rezaul Karim, the four- member delegation
apprised the minister about the activities of the organization, an official
release said today.
Other members of the delegation include – Senior Vice-Chairman Ariful
Ahsan, Directors Arju Rahman Bhuiyan and Syed Md. Bakhtiar.
During the meeting, the state minister assured them of all-out
cooperation to speed-up the activities of SCB. He said the country’s pace of
development will be accelerated through the concerted efforts of government
and non-government organizations.
Later, a delegation of Bangladesh Cargo Vessel Owners Association also
met with the Shipping minister at his office at the secretariat. Leaders of
the organization apprised the minister about their activities and seek his
help for resolving various issues.
The minister assured them of active cooperation from the government in
solving their problems.
Members of the delegation include – general secretary Md. Nurul Haque and
organizational secretary Md. Jahangir Alam, among others.
