BD wins ‘Welcome Skills Award’ in Young Chef Olympiad in India

DHAKA, Feb 5, 2019 (BSS) – Aqsa Iqbal, the chefstant from the National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI) of the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), has won the “Welcome Skills Special Achievement Award” in the world’s largest learners competition “Young Chef Olympiad 2019” held in three cities of India – Delhi, Pune and Kolkata.

Bangladesh got this award on February 2 among 16 categories where contestants from 52 countries participated in this competition, said a press release.

Young Chef Olympiad took place for the 5th time this year which was organised by International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) as part of IndiSmart Group, a large conglomerate that operates IndiSmart Hotels.

YCO arranged a National Dish Display in Kolkata. Bangladesh displayed an authentic and traditional Bangladeshi dessert namely “Khola Jali Pitha” mainly originated and practiced in some regions of Chattogram, Noakhali and Cumilla districts. The dish was served with roasted duck. This Pitha just won the hearts of the contestant teams from 52 countries.

Dr Suborno Bose, Chairman YCO global Council, Co-Chairman, International Hospitality Council, and Founder and Chief Mentor, IndiSmart Group was the central man behind this world’s largest culinary show by the young learners.
