Working plan underway to implement ‘My Village-My Town’ vision: Tajul

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 5, 2019 (BSS) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister M Tajul
Islam today said the government has undertaken steps to implement its
commitment given before the people to term every village into a town.

The government has already formed working groups and held a number of
meetings to implement the ‘My village-My town’ plan, LGRD and Cooperatives
Ministry Md. Tajul Islam said responding to a question from treasury bench
member M Israfil Alam of Naogaon-6.

The working committee has undertaken initiatives to prepare necessary sector
wise, he said.

Roads and communication connectivity, rural markets, coordinated improved
drainage system, proper waste management and safe water are essential sectors
to implement the plan, he said.

The committee would also collect information, prepare working plan and
various projects for development of the rural areas, he added.

The minister said that the government would encourage and provide assistance
in different group of people for setting up biogas plant and solar panel to
generate more dependable power and energy supply.

Under the My Village-My Town plan the government will focus on the following
areas which include communication infrastructure, safe drinking water, modern
healthcare services and quality education.

The plan also include development of standard sewerage system and waste
management, build up dependable power and energy supply, ensure computer and
high speed internet facility and expanding the hygienic market of consumable
goods.
