1,921 new beneficiaries to get allowances in Rangpur city
RANGPUR, Feb 04, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 1,921 new beneficiaries of 33
wards in Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) will get old age and disability
allowances with Taka 500 per month each from the current fiscal year.
The information was disclosed at a joint meeting of RpCC and City Social
Service Office of the Department of Social Services at conference room of
RpCC in the city on Sunday.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa presided over the meeting
participated by City Councilors from all wards, officials and employees
concerned of RpCC and City Social Service Office.
Panel Mayors Shamsul Haque and Mahmudur Rahman Titu, Chief Executive
Officer of RpCC Akhter Hossain Azad, its Secretary Abu Saleh Md Musa Jongi,
City Social Service Officer Shafikul Islam Paikar, among others, addressed.
The meeting decided to enlist new 1,227 older citizens and 694
physically challenged people of the city under old age and disability
allowance programmes of the Department of Social Services from current fiscal
year.
“Each of the selected older citizen and disabled persons will get Taka
500 per month allowance from the current fiscal year and onwards under the
government’s social safety net programmers,” said City Social Service Officer
Shafikul Islam Paikar.
