Palak distributes solar panels of Tk 1.7 crore in Natore
NATORE, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS) – State minister for Information and
Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak today distributed solar
panels worth about Taka 1.7 crore among 440 families and street lamps at 90
places under the upazila.
“The government would reduce the differences between the rural and urban
areas across the country….There would be no rural areas without electricity
in the country,” he said.
Palak was speaking as the chief guest at a programme on Singra Court
premises organised by upazila administration.
The solar panels and street lights were funded by the Ministry of Disaster
Management and Relief.
Earlier, the Chalan Beel and the adjacent areas remained dark after sunset
due to lack of electricity as such those villages lagged far behind the
mainstream development. The country’s progress is not possible neglecting the
rural areas, he said.
“Now people can earn through outsourcing using internet by sitting at
home,” he added.
Singra Municipality Mayor Jannatul Ferdous and upazila Awami League
President Wahidur Rahman Sheikh spoke, among others.
