EU, Latam contact group on Venezuela to meet Thursday
BRUSSELS, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Ministers from European and Latin
American countries which form an “international contact group” hoping to end
Venezuela’s political crisis, will hold its first meeting in Montevideo
Thursday, the joint hosts announced Sunday.
“The Contact Group will bring together the EU and eight of its Member
States (France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and
the United Kingdom) and countries from Latin America (Bolivia, Costa Rica,
Ecuador and Uruguay),” said a statement from EU diplomatic chief Federica
Mogherini and Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez.
