SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS) – Primary and Mass Education Minister M
Zakir Hossain today said the government has a plan to operate the old age
education programme at each union across the country.
“The government has a plan to launch old age education programmes under
government arrangement at each union ,” he said this while responding to a
query made by treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chattogram-11 in the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here.
Meanwhile, fundamental literacy programme aimed at providing literacy to 15-45
years old female-male at 250 selected upazilas among 64 districts is ongoing,
the minister said.
Zakir Hossain said: “The literacy programme was launched at 134 upazilas out
of 250 upazilas and the programme will be started at the rest of upazilas
soon.”
