Zero tolerance against corruption of dam construction: Shameem
DHAKA, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS) – Deputy Minister AKM Enamul Haque Shameem today
made it clear that zero tolerance would be shown against any kind of
corruption regarding dam construction in erosion-prone areas across the
country.
“We will take measures whatever requirement of checking erosion ahead of
the monsoon….We have taken it as a challenge”, he said.
He said he would not allow any corruption in the water resources ministry
as the ministry is working focusing on the Prime Minister’s ‘zero tolerance
policy’ against corruption.”
He was speaking at a dialogue organised by Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters
Forum held at the Secretariat here.
Replying to a question about Teesta issue, the minister said they are
optimistic about the quick solution to the problem.
He also said he had visited six erosion-affected areas so far after taking
charge of the office and he would visit the Haor area soon.
Shameem also expressed hope that every political party would take part in
the upcoming upazila parishad election.
