Regional SME Products Fair to be inaugurated in Gaibandha on Mar 12
GAIBANDHA, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS) – A seven-day Regional Small and Medium
Enterprise (SME) Products Fair will be launched on the ground of Independence
Square of the town here from March 12 in a befitting manner.
A preparatory meeting was held in this regard at the conference room of
District Collectorate Building here on Sunday with deputy commissioner (DC)
Abdul Matin in the chair.
DC Abdul Matin said the fair would continue till March 18 under the
supervision of district administration, Gaibandha BSCIC (Bangladesh Small and
Cottage Industries Corporation), Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(GCCI), National Association of Small and Cottage Industries of Bangladesh
(NASIB) Gaibandha and Sonali Bank Ltd, Gaibandha.
A total of 50 stalls would be set up in the fair to motivate the
entrepreneurs, in a bid to run their businesses smoothly through focusing and
popularizing their products to the visitors and the customers, the DC said.
Colorful cultural functions with indigenous games like Lathi Khela and
Saap Khela would also be arranged to entertain people attending the fair, the
DC added.
An initiative would be taken for publicity activity in large scale in all
the seven upazilas of the district side by side with holding press conference
for the journalists on the fair to make it successful, the DC further added.
DC Abdul Matin urged all to visit the fair everyday and enjoy the
cultural programmes to be held on the fair premises.
After elaborate discussion, different sub-committees were formed at the
meeting aimed at holding the fair fruitfully.
The meeting was also addressed, among others, by additional deputy
commissioner (General) Rokhsana Begum, assistant general manager of BSCIC
Nurul Islam, president of GCCI Shajada Anwarul Quadir, president of Gaibandha
NASIB Shafiqul Islam Alamgir, and general secretary of Gaibandha Press Club
Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman.
