4 killed 8 injured in Ctg road accident
CHATTOGRAM, Feb 3, 2019(BSS)- At least four micro passengers were killed
and eight others injured when a Cox’s bazar bound bus of Soudia Paribahan
collided headed on with a Chattogram bound microbus at Bhiyardigi area under
Patiya upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as micro bus driver Sakib, 25, and passengers
Anwar Hossain, 42, Mohammad Shahjahan, 32 and Jashim 16. Mizanur Rahman,
officer in-charge of Patiya Highway Police Outpost, said Cox’s Bazar-bound
Soudia Paribahan bus from Chattogram collided headed on with a Chattogram
bound microbus at Bhiyardigi area under Patiya upazila around 8 am.
Both the vehicles skidded off the road and fell on a roadside paddy field
following the accident that left three passengers died on the spot and
another one succumbed to injuries after being taken to hospital, Mizan said.
The injured were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
Alauddin Talukdar, Assistant Sub Inspector of CMCH police outpost said adding
that the death toll may go up as some of them sustained severe injuries.
