DHAKA, Jan 29, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today gave financial assistance of Taka 90 lakh to two ailing sons and a daughter of late Kamal Uddin Ahmed, a hostile witness of the historic Agartala Conspiracy Case.
Qamrul Hasan Ahmed and Khairul Hasan Ahmed, sons of Kamal Uddin and his (Kamal) daughter Meher Nini Kamal received cheques for the amount from the premier at the Prime Minister’s Office here this afternoon, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told reporters.
Senior officials of the PMO were present on the occasion.
Kamal Uddin, the first Naval Adviser of Bangladesh, became a victim of massive torture and suffered jail during the rule of Ziaur Rahman and later he died after sustaining severe physical torment, the press secretary said.
