AL leader stabbed to death in Nandail
MYMENSINGH, Feb 02, 2019 (BSS) – Unidentified miscreants killed an Awami
League leader in Nandail upazila of the district Friday night.
The victim was identified as Morshed Uddin Khan, 55, president of AL
Moazzempur union unit in Nandail.
Quoting local people, Kamrul Islam Miah, officer-in-charge of Nandail
Police Station said miscreants stabbed Morshed with sharp weapons
indiscriminately in Kanurampur Bazar area while he was returning home at
village Duttapur riding a motor bike around 10 pm last night.
On hearing the cry of the victims, local people rushed to the spot.
After killing the killers fled the scene. Critically injured Morshed died on
the spot, said the OC.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent
it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy today,
said the OC.
Two accompanies of Morshed, Mujibur Rahman of Kutubpur and Nazim Uddin
of Bahadurnagor village were also injured during the attack, police said.
Mujibur Rahman was admitted at MMCH while Nazim was treated at local
hospital.
Police detained one identified as Nurul Islam, 55, for interrogation.
No case was filed in this connection yet.
