Hong Kong stocks rally at open
HONG KONG, Jan 31, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Hong Kong shares opened with healthy
gains Thursday after the Federal Reserve signalled it would slow down its
pace of interest rate hikes.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.72 percent, or 199.20 points, to 27,842.05.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.43 percent, or 11.12
points, to 2,586.69, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks
on China’s second exchange, gained 0.34 percent, or 4.42 points, to 1,288.13.
