2 DU students get M R Tarafdar Scholarship
DHAKA, Jan 30, 2019 (BSS) – Two meritorious students of the Department of Islamic History and Culture of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “M R Tarafdar Memorial Scholarship” for securing the highest CGPA in BA (Hons) examination of 2018.
The recipients of scholarship are- Md. Jalal Uddin and Razia Sultana Bithi.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held today at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Vice Chancellor of the Central Women’s University and donor of the trust fund Prof. Dr. Parveen Hasan, chairman of the department of Islamic History and Culture Prof. Dr. Ataur Rahman Miazi and some other teachers were present on this occasion.
Prof Akhtaruzzaman paid tributes to the memory of late Prof. Momtajur Rahman Tarafdar.
He thanked Prof. Dr Parveen Hasan to set up this trust fund to perpetuate the memory of Prof. Tarafdar at DU.
“This scholarship will work as an inspiration for poor and meritorious students to go ahead,” the VC said.
