Ekushey Book Fair begins in Khulna Friday
KHULNA, Jan, 29, 2019(BSS) – The month-long ‘Ekushey Book Fair’ will begin on February 1 on Khulna Divisional Public Library premises.
Mayor of Khulna Talukder Abdul Khaleque will attend the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest while Member of Parliament of Khulna-2 constituency Sheikh Salahuddin Zewel will inaugurate the fair.
Khulna divisional commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia, Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid and acting Commissioner of KMP Sarder Rakibul Islam will also attend the fair as special guests.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain told BSS today that the month-long fair is a tradition for the people of Khulna as the ‘Book Fair’ held here only out of Dhaka.
Earlier on January 9, the decision was taken at a preparation meeting held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner with DC Mohammad Helal Hossain in the chair.
